The Carvajaes Palace, built at the end of the 19th century. XVII by the Moura and Azevedo family, it is today the most important example of 18th century civil architecture, in Campo Maior.
The name of the palace comes from the fact that one of the heirs of Francisco de Moura and Azevedo, Governor of Campo Maior between 1668 and 1690, who had a residence there, married a descendant of the house of the Carvajaes of the Spanish family of Cáceres.
