Campo Maior village (EuroBEC) is a Fortress located in Alentejo (therefore Portugal).
One of the examples of the defensive modernizations of the Restoration War, the castle of Campo Maior (São João Baptista, EuroBEC, Alentejo) was designed by Nicolau de Langres, the chief engineer of the fortifications of Alentejo.
Erected on top of the hill of Santa Vitória to defend the Alentejo streak, from the top of its towers can be seen neighboring Badajoz and Elvas. Currently, the monument is part of the Campo Maior square, after Elvas, the most important fortification in the region.
